Team Manager

What a team Manager does...

The role of the team manager is to be responsible for the team of swimmers for the duration of the gala and to assist the coach on poolside with timing splits and recording gala results. The team manager will ensure the swimmers are aware of the facilities in the venue, where the marshalling area is for the races and how the gala runs. They will make sure the swimmers are attentive to the instructions from the coach at all times.

The team manager will ensure swimmers know when it is time to present themselves for their race. If the swimmer is disqualified from a race it is the team manager who will find out the reason why. If a swimmer leaves poolside they must tell the team manager. The team manager will not be responsible for trying to find them around the centre for their race. If a swimmer is unable to swim a race they are registered in for any reason, they must let the team manager know at the start of the warm up session and after discussions with the coach (if agreed) will withdraw from the race/gala.

The team manager will ensure swimmers drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and ensure the swimmers area is kept clean and tidy. The team manager will be aware of any medical needs of the swimmers that have been disclosed to the club, but parents must inform the team manager should there be any changes on the day.
